Clinical Manager, Pediatrics - FT Exempt position&nbsp;40 hrs/week<BR/>&nbsp;<BR/><BR/>JOB SUMMARY: Supports the Director&nbsp;in the operational oversight of clinical activities.&nbsp; Fosters the professional growth of the unit staff.<BR/>&nbsp;<BR/>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<BR/>- Develops and implements teaching tools and orientation materials in area of expertise.<BR/>- Assesses level of competency and knowledge base of nurses and other ancillary personnel based on written exam, direct observation of skills, interview techniques and informal conversation with appropriate follow up.<BR/>- Coordinates and conducts orientation programs for nursing personnel.<BR/>- Serves as a consultant and role model to staff in areas of clinical expertise and interpretation of policies and procedures.<BR/>- Counsels staff members, as indicated, and serves as mediator for personnel problems and documents appropriately.<BR/>- Conducts staff performance evaluations by noting educational, competency and performance accomplishments and deficits with a corrective plan of action.<BR/>- Challenges the staff to grow professionally by setting goals.<BR/>- Identifies and confronts issues that affect the quality of patient care. Communicates these concerns through incident reports and through the chain of command as appropriate.<BR/>- Maintains focus on Customer Service in management of staff.<BR/>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science required (or working toward same).&nbsp; Minimum 5 years relevant clinical experience; 2 years progressive nursing management experience with demonstrated success in area of specialty.<BR/>&nbsp;<BR/>INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:<BR/>Ability to constructively criticize and positively reinforce students, nurses and technicians in a teaching situation.&nbsp; Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with employees at all levels.
